Digging Down Debt

Note: there's a bug in some browsers where the intro letters don't render! We put screenshots of them on the right just in case. :)

THE COUNTDOWN IS ON
Your mortgage is 120 days past due! Pay in full within 7 days or surrender your property!

You don't have many options left here. You're too attached to your kidneys, and after what happened last time the clinic won't accept any more plasma from you, so that's out.

What else can you do but fish out your trusty shovel and start digging? If nothing else it'll take your mind off of the problem for a little while.

GAMEPLAY

  • Your back yard is made up of diggable blocks of various material types, like dirt, clay, stone, and more. Who knows how deep it goes?
  • Collect treasures ranging from coins in the topsoil to ancient artifacts strewn about deep caverns
  • Purchase new items from the shop to help make digging and traversal  easier, like better shoves, explosives, and ladders to climb back up

GAME JAM
Made for the GMTK Game Jam 2026!"Count Down" inspired the 7 day limit, the 40 digs per day, and the down-ness of digging... down.

It was our first game together. :) Hope you like it!

I agree, everything just works

Honestly the art really motivated me to get everything working together like we did. Pulling the latest version of the game to work on the next feature and seeing the artwork start coming together was really exciting.
